Roald Dahl

Where I did my research

While doing this project I did my research from books that I borrowed from the Birmingham City Library:Roald Dahl by Haydn Middleton and Roald Dahl by Chris Powling.

I also bought some books from Waterstones in Birmingham:D is for Dahl by anonymous author ;The Dahl manac fun facts and jokes with illustrations by Quentin Blake (Roalds best friend) and a 2 in 1 book including Boy and Going Solo. I also have a collection of books of my own: my favourites are The Twits; Esio Trot (Tortoise backwards); The Wonderful World of Roald Dahl and Roald Dahl Treasury.

I also looked and printed stuff off the Internet. The websites are: www.roalddahl.com;www.roalddahlfans.com; www.penguin.co.uk and www.roalddahlmuseum.org. I also contacted the museum by e-mail for information.

On Sunday 22nd October we went on a little holiday to Great Missenden and went to the Roald Dahl museum. That was great fun, lots of interesting things to see ,touch ,smell, do and feel. Then we visited his grave at St Peter and St Paul church. It was pouring it down with rain We got soaked!! To find his grave you have to find an octagonal bench around a tree it had the names of all his children and step children around it and then follow the giant footsteps down the hill to his grave it was a tingly experience to stand by his burial place .There was some money on the angel of his gravestone so we put some on too to help the Roald Dahl Foundation which helps less fortunate people.

The next day we visited The Roald Dahl children’s gallery Buckinghamshire County Museum. Another place with lots to see and do I got to ride in the glass elevator, crawl through Mr Fox’s tunnel and Investigate mini beasts inside the GIANT PEACH , two fantastic days.

A big Thank You to my Dad for taking us ...
