The Writer Dies

Gravestone at Great MissendenRoald Dahl died on November 23rd 1990 aged 74. It was a form of leukaemia (a blood cancer). He was buried on the hillside of St Peter and St Pauls Church in Great Missenden opposite Gipsy House.

Dahl never ran out of ideas for children’s stories. He was still writing "The Minpins" and "The Vicar of Nibbleswicke" up until he died . They were both published after his death. Money from books sold goes to The Roald Dahl Foundation. The charity supports things close to Roalds heart; projects that help people to read, and haematology (blood) projects.
